Directorate General for Information Society and Media of the European Commission
Andicom 2008:
Directorate General for Information Society and Media of the European Commission promotes I+D
cooperation between the European Union and Colombia
The Directorate General for Information Society and Media of the European Commission is
developing a plan disclosed in the countries of Latin America in order to promote access to
Cooperation resources allocated by the European Community under the Seventh Framework Program
(7PM).
The Framework Programs (PM), have constituted the main financial instruments through which
the EU supports the research and development activities, covering all scientific disciplines. The
PM are nominated by the European Commission and adopted by the Council and European Parliament
following a co-decision procedure. The 7PM, which has been proposed to last 7 years, is designed to
give continuity to the achievements of the previous framework program, towards the creation of the
European research area and bring it beyond, until the development of Europe’s economy and knowledge
society.
As part of the outreach program, the European Commission will conduct a workshop promoting
7PM within Andicom 2008, major telecommunications congress in Spanish-speaking Latin America, to be
held in Cartagena from October 29th to 31st.
This day shall consist of three activities:
Information Day: Conferences in which
will be described 7PM and explains, in general, how to access cooperation resources.
Sala
+: Day of conferences to promote research and development projects in Network Electronic Media
within the 7PM.
AproTECH
Workshops: practical workshop led by the AproTECH offices in which will be examined mechanisms
and conditions to apply for 7PM projects.
